Better than Comcast Norton Internet Security
With the recent updates to Norton’s Internet Security and Comcast not rolling out the latest version, Norton was throwing up more windows to do basic things than ever before (i.e.: repeatedly promting to install Safari extensions even though it was already installed). Moved to Bitdefender and it’s been solid and bast of all, doesn’t continuously interrupt me when I’m on my Mac. This is basically the same version as the downloadable version from Bitdefender, but at the time, was $10 cheaper and the app store lets you use this up to 5 macs. Albeit, you don’t get access to the Bitdefender management console (at least not that I’m aware of). Did some testing and it’s found some of the basic vulnerabilities I threw at it.
Pros: cheap price, same level of protection
Cons: no access to the central Bitdefender management console, so no management across other Bitdefender products (i.e.: Bitdefender Box)
Conslusion: worh it!
